I found where unicorns live!

I found a service that notifies me if there is rain to be falling the next short while. Most of the time I ignore the messages, but this time I took a vehicle and drove the "Cliff". I had once witnessed a Thunderstorm up there and seeing sheets of rain fall while standing on a cliff...well there's just nothing like it. But this time it didn't rain buckets, it was more of a sprinkle. It rained for several minutes and then the sun poked though. Leaving me with double rainbows, dramatic skies, and just some of the coolest nature photos I have gotten in a long time. All of these photos were taken in a 20 foot radius and within a ten minute time-span. IMG_9394.jpg

“There is nothing worse than a sharp image of a fuzzy concept.”

The Mink

When looking at this image, it strikes me how powerful it becomes with that small animal. It would otherwise be but a ordinary hole in the river ice, but the animal gives it another name. It turns the hole into a entrance for the Mink's hunting grounds. Being a semi-aquatic animal, it is very keen on 'fishing' for food. And if nothing else, the Mink gives the image some scale.
